Mexican Chorizo Burger

Ingredients For This Recipe

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup iceberg lettuce, fine julienne
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • Mayonnaise, to taste
  •  
  • Chorizo Marinade
  • 3 tbsp guajillo powder, or substitute for chili powder
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Preparation

  1. Put all the ingredients for the chorizo marinade in a bowl and mix.
  2. Place the minced pork, mix and marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Separate the pork into 4 and form the patties.
  4. Spray the surface of the skillet with oil and preheat it for 30 seconds over medium heat.
  5. Place patties and cook on each side until they reach 160°F internal temperature.
  6. Wipe out the skillet and toast the buns for one minute on each side.
  7. Spread the buns with mayonnaise and top with lettuce, tomato, chorizo and avocado.
  8. Serve, garnish and enjoy.
