Do you feel fear when you go to cook with a pressure cooker? It's time to resolve that lack of confidence by clarifying the risks and reinforcing the key safety points that the Royal Prestige® Pressure Cooker gives you when cooking. It's true that a safe environment gives you peace of mind in your home, so we're going to uncover the concerns that make you hesitate and keep you from getting the most out of your efficient cooking partner.
Can the lid explode or fly off?
Follow these tips to help prevent kitchen accidents. It is advisable to pay close attention to all the details, from the correct closing of the safety devices, constant monitoring of the fire level while cooking, protection such as oven gloves and, finally, paying attention to the pressure being released.
If your cooker shows any of the following signs, do not use it! Turn off the heating source, do not attempt to move it, and contact our customer service immediately:
If you observe steam leaking from the sides of the lid or pressure release window.
If the cooker or lid is knocked or damaged.
If the cooker makes strange noises while cooking.
If the cooker fails to close.
If the lid, gasket and/or valve show signs of wear.
It is important to pay special attention to the condition of the gasket in the lid. Remember that it should be cleaned after every use and replaced at least once a year.
Can I uncover the cooker at any time?
You can only open the cooker when the pressure has been fully released and the indicator pin has gone down. Once the lid is locked and shows any resistance when trying to open it, avoid moving it, pressing the indicator pin down or using any other mechanism to force the cooker open as this can cause a dangerous release of pressure. Be careful to keep your body and hands away to avoid steam burns.
Can I cook any food?
Foods such as cereals, pasta and blueberries can foam and should not be cooked in the Royal Prestige® Pressure Cooker. Respect the maximum capacity indicated in the quick guide: 2/3 for most foods, 1/2 for foods that expand, for example, rice and dried vegetables.
