Cooking under pressure is possible when you have the Royal Prestige® Pressure Cooker in your kitchen. However, like any powerful tool, it's crucial to understand its correct usage to avoid accidents. Dive into the world of safe and efficient cooking by following these recommendations:
DO's:
Setting the Stage: Before using your Pressure Cooker for the first time, read the instruction manual and follow all instructions in the manual. Start by doing a thorough cleaning according to the instructions in the manual. Every time you start cooking, always keep in mind:
Always add at least 1 cup of liquid and more if the recipe recommends more liquid.
Do not exceed 2/3 pot capacity for most foods or ½ capacity for foods that expand.
Use an appropriately sized heat source.
Select the right ingredients for pressure cooking.
Check your cooker thoroughly before use, especially the lid and gasket, for any wear or damage.
Close the lid properly. Be sure to close the lid properly with all components seated to avoid steam or pressure leaks. Pressure cooking will only work if the lid is properly closed. If the lid is not closing properly, do not force it. Instead, contact our customer service team.
Make sure the pressure has been fully released. Before opening the lid of your Royal Prestige® Pressure Cooker it is vital that you release all the pressure built up inside. The steam that will come out of the valve when depressurizing is very hot, avoiding contact.
Open the lid carefully. Once all the pressure has been released, remove the lid carefully, avoiding sudden movements that may cause spills or splashes. Keep your hands and face away from any steam that may escape when opening the lid and consider wearing oven mitts to help protect you from the heat.
Clean after each use. Wash your Royal Prestige® Pressure Cooker in hot, soapy water using a soft cloth or sponge. Be sure to clean the gasket, the regulator valve, and the indicator pin as well. Avoid using abrasive or chlorinated products like bleach for cleaning.
DON'Ts:
Do not use for improper use: Avoid using the pressure cooker for frying or cooking cereals, rhubarb, pasta and blueberries. Do not add oil when cooking in your Royal Prestige® Pressure Cooker.
Do not move the cooker. Once you start cooking, avoid moving the cooker, especially once the pressure has built up. Rough handling may cause pressure changes inside the unit, spills or accidents.
Do not try to open the pan by force. Do not use devices to try to open the cooker or manipulate the pressure indicator pin. If it does not open easily, it may well still be under pressure. Release all steam and wait for the pot to cool before opening it.
Avoid fast cooling methods. Remember not to move your cooker when it is under pressure. Do not move it to place it under cold water or use any other rapid cooling or thermal shock method.
Do not use with children nearby. Keep the cooker out of the reach of children to avoid burns, scalding or injury from the sudden release of steam or pressure.
Be sure to read and practice the Use and Care Manual so you can fully master the art of safe cooking with your Royal Prestige® Pressure Cooker. Remember to always prioritize safety in the kitchen and enjoy delicious, worry-free results with every meal.
